RicXeco Energy Ltd is active in the following fields of activities:

• Engineering and distribution of drain water heat recovery (DWHR) equipment

  Drain water heat recovery units are utilized to recover 10 to 60% (depending on the model) of the thermal energy that would otherwise go down the drain. They are particularly efficient to recover the heat wasted when you take a shower. Like all existing DWHR products, the RicXeco unit is only marginally useful when the hot water is used in batch (like when you take a bath or use a residential dishwasher).

  Compared to competing solutions, RicXeco units have the distinctive advantage of a modern "heat exchanger" design. This design minimizes the  pressure drop in the cold/potable water pipe while still maximizing the heat recovery.  See specific product data sheet for data regarding pressure drop and recovery efficiency.

  The heat exchanger is of double-wall construction to protect the quality of the freshwater entering the house.  All piping carrying the freshwater and the greywater are made of copper in accordance to NSF-61.  Therefore, the design should be compatible with most existing building codes in North America (unless copper is specifically prohibited in your area).

  In addition to the NSF-61/ASTM certified piping, the units use a copper envelope which carries the thermal energy very effectively.  This envelope is part of the heat exchanger design but does not enter into contact with the potable or the grey water.  It only carries the thermal energy.   (Note: Starting Dec first 2010, old model with composite material envelope are no longer manufactured)
